Chapter 6: The Procedure – What, Why, and How

In the words of Mark Twain, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started”. In this chapter, I discuss the reality I faced once the abdominal pain kicked in. I had started this whole journey with a lot of enthusiasm and mind preparation but reality fell on me like a tonne of bricks with the pain. Oh such pain… That said, the journey had started and there was no going back.
I share how this period was a very low point for me because for nearly a year, I was confined to my house which was, honestly speaking, very depressing. I also share a list of dos and don’ts for Surgery day. The duration of the surgery is short but waking up takes a bit of a mind reboot. At the end of the chapter, I make a humble submission that you should give yourself some time to fully accept the scope of this surgery and lay a strong foundation based on strong resolve and discipline for your new lease on life.
