About the Book “A lighter Me”
In my book “A Lighter Me”, I guide readers through the bariatric surgery process, from choosing the right doctor to the importance of postsurgical guidance and support. You’ll learn what to expect during pre-surgical appointments, the different surgical options available to you, and how to prepare for and recover from the procedure.
Equally important, the book discusses the physical and psychological causes of weight gain, including yo-yo dieting and genetic predispositions. It speaks to how important careful preparation and postsurgical lifestyle changes are essential for positive bariatric surgery outcomes. A Lighter Me is a valuable resource guiding you through the process,
My experience sharing is a guide book to help you walk through this process involved in going through this life changing journey. I discuss the key processes and help you identify how you can ask the right question as well as where you can go to have this amazing procedure done. In the book, I also focus on educating my readers on this procedure and the fact that it is not just a surgery, it is actually a lifestyle change. And to be honest, there is no going back after this procedure.
The biggest message in my experience and that I share in this book is YOU CAN DO IT. What you need is education – what you need to know to be successful, hope – you can have a second chance in life and determination – this is a one way street, you lifestyle has to change forever.
I am Brian S. Mills, I had a BIG problem with my weight. A really big problem despite my active youth and business focus. You see, as a strapping young man, I had a successful career as a college wrestler. Post college I ran an effective physical therapy company. So you see I lead a relatively active life, understood the dangers of obesity but YET the pounds kept on accumulating. It piled on to the point where my health and quality of life deteriorated completely and I was careening down the pathway to being death.
I became a part of the statistics – one of the 30% of the World’s population that is either obese or overweight. A part of the figure that makes up the 3.1 billion people across the world – verifiable data drawn from over 188 countries. A part of the data that the National Institute of Health identifies as being taken out by the duo of Obesity and Overweight. Close to becoming one of the 300,000 deaths in the United States of america caused by being overweight and Obese.
So, let me tell you the story of how, where other weight-loss methods failed, i clawed my way back to life with the help of Bariatric Surgery – My fight to regain control, the process and the end result of a changed lifestyle. journey, the process and the result. My journey to A lighter Me began once I came to the full conscious realisation that I was going to die if I took no action regarding my weight. Here I am facing possibly the most difficult time of my life: I was struggling, I had tried several options none had worked and i finally realized I had only one option left – bariatric surgery. Where other weight-loss methods failed, bariatric surgery allowed me to regain control
of my weight.
Enjoyed it very much. Love that the ending was so unexpected. I just flew through it, engrossing and surprising.
Despite being a bit predictable, it was fast moving and very enjoyable. I had to get through to the end and couldn’t put it down.
